Chelan County, Washington named Deanna Walter as the county’s permanent Community Development Director. Walter has more than 27 years of land use experience. She joined the Chelan County’s Community Development Department in 2002 as the Assistant Director till 2005, then rehired in 2009 with the Assessor’s Office as the Chief Appraiser. In September 2011, she was appointed Chelan County Assessor and she was elected as the Assessor in 2012, 2014, 2018 and 2022 General Elections. Walter holds Bachelor of Science Degree in Statistics & Actuarial Science from the Central Washington University and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban & Regional Planning from the Eastern Washington University. Walter served 2 terms as President of the Washington State Association of County Assessor.
