Brunswick County, North Carolina welcomes David Howard as new Health Services Director

Brunswick County, North Carolina welcomed David Howard as the county’s new Director of its Health Services Department. Howard has nearly 22 years of experience in the health field within the Cape Fear Region and across North Carolina. Howard previously served with the Hanover County where he joined as the Deputy Public Health Director on Dec 1, 2017, and in Jan 2021 was named as the Interim Health Director later in April 2021 he was officially named the Public Health Director. He also served as the Health and Human Services Director with County of Bladen and Public Health Director with Hyde County. Howard earned a bachelor’s degree in Business & Marketing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Howard currently serves as Co-Chair of the North Carolina Association of Local Health Directors and previously served on the executive committee and governing board for the North Carolina Public Health Association from 2018 to 2022. Howard starts with the Brunswick County on 23 January 2023.
