Delaware County, Pennsylvania hires county's first ever Public Health Director

Delaware County, Pennsylvania has hired the county’s first ever Public Health Director, Melissa Lyon. The Delaware County Board of Health approved the position in a meeting held on Nov. 18 During the pandemic, Delaware County did not have a public health director and relied solely on direction from Chester County to assist their leaders. Ms. Lyon has a background in government and public health, bringing 20 years of experience to the position. She’s worked previously for Erie County, PA, where she served as their public health director.
