Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed Eric Hall to be Secretary of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Senior Chancellor of the Florida Department of Education since March 2019, Dr. Hall has served at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction as Deputy State Superintendent of Innovation and as Superintendent of the North Carolina Innovative School District, prior to which he worked as President and Chief Executive Officer of Communities in Schools of North Carolina and as National Director of Educational Studies at AMIKids. He earned a BA in Secondary Science Education, an MA in Educational Leadership and Policy, and an EdD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of South Florida. Dr. Hall succeeds former Secretary Simone Marstiller.
