Col. Robert S. Noren named Commander for the Air Force 165th Airlift Wing

Col. Robert S. Noren recently became the Commander for the 165th Airlift Wing. He succeeds former Commander, Col. David C. Smith, in the position. Col. Noren received his first commission in 1992 and became a Civil Engineering officer at Davis-Monthan- Tucson AFB, AZ. Since, then Col. Noren has held various position throughout his career to include Civil Engineering Officer, 355 CES, Davis-Monthan- Tucson AFB, AZ, MC-130E Instructor Navigator, 8 SOS, Director of Operations & Commander, 165 ASOS, Garden City, GA, and Chief of Staff, 165th Airlift Wing, Garden City, GA, among others. Prior to his current position, Col. Noren served as Commander, 165 Mission Support Group, Garden City, GA. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, from Penn State University, Pennsylvania, and a Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Management, George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
