Capt. Daryl E. Trent assumed the command of the Naval Air Force Atlantic's Carrier Air Wing Eight (CVW-8)

Capt. Daryl E. Trent assumed the command of the Carrier Air Wing Eight (CVW-8). He succeeds former Commander, Capt. Joshua A. Sager, in the position. He was commissioned under the Enlisted Commissioning Program in 1997. At sea, Capt. Trent served as the Commanding Officer of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 125 from February 2015 to June 2016. He also served on USS Scott (DDG 995), USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51), VAW-126 onboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75), VAW-123 onboard USS Enterprise (CVN-65), and VAW-124 onboard USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77). Capt. Trent’s ashore assignments include: Anti-Air Aarfare Instructor at Weapons Training Unit, Atlantic, Director at Hawkeye Weapons and Tactics Unit, Atlantic, VAW-VRC Detailer (PERS-432E) at Navy Personnel Command, Executive Officer of VAW-120 and J5 Branch Chief at North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command and most recently as the Battle Director at the 609th Combined Air and Space Operations Center, Al Udeid, Qatar. He holds Master of Science degrees from the University of Arkansas and the National Defense University.
