Christine S. Abizaid has been confirmed and sworn in as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence

July 22, 2021: Christine S. Abizaid has been confirmed and sworn in as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Ms. Abizaid comes to the NCTC from Dell Technologies, where she worked as Vice President of Global Operations and as Chief of Staff for Global Operations. Prior to this, she served as a Strategic Advisor to JPA Partners, LLC, as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Department of Defense for Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Central Asia, as Senior Policy Advisor to the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism at the National Security Council, as Counterterrorism Director at the National Security Council, and as a Senior Analyst for the U.S. Department of Defense. Ms. Abizaid earned a BA in psychology at the University of California at San Diego and an MA in international policy studies at Stanford University. She replaces Acting Director Steve Vanech.
