The United States Senate has confirmed Janet Garvin McCabe as Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

May 4, 2021: The United States Senate has confirmed Janet Garvin McCabe as Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Ms. McCabe served for 7 years as Acting Assistant Administrator and Principal Deputy to the Assistant Administrator in the EPA's Office of Air and Radiation under President Barack Obama, and worked as a Professor of Practice at the Indiana University McKinney School of Law and as Assistant Director and then Director of the IU Environmental Resilience Institute. Prior to this, she served as Executive Director of Improving Kids' Environment and as Assistant Commissioner for Air Quality at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Ms. McCabe earned a bachelor's degree at Harvard University in 1980 and a JD at Harvard Law School in 1983.
