Sarah Squirrell, Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Mental Health, is retiring July 1

May 4, 2021: Sarah Squirrell, Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Mental Health, is retiring July 1. Squirrell has been the Commissioner for two years. During that time, she led the development of the department’s 10-year plan, “Vision 2030,” to more closely integrate mental and physical health care in Vermont. Sarah has Master of Science in Community Mental Health and Clinical Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University.
