November 20, 2020: President Trump announced he intended to appoint Basil Parker to be Administrator of the Office of Electronic Government at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). This position is commonly known as the Federal Chief Information Officer. Parker will transition to OMB from his role as Chief of Staff at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Prior to OPM, he held leadership roles at Booz Allen Hamilton and ASRC Federal. Parker served in the U.S. Marine Corps and then joined the Defense Information Systems Agency in 1995 as a computer scientist.
