Brian P. Brooks has been nominated by President Trump to serve as Comptroller of the Currency

November 19, 2020: Brian P. Brooks has been nominated by President Trump to serve as Comptroller of the Currency for a term of five years. Brooks is currently the acting Comptroller of the Currency. He was named First Deputy Comptroller and Chief Operating Officer by Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin in April 2020. He previously served as Chief Legal Officer of Coinbase Global Inc, a digital asset exchange and custodian. Earlier in his career, he served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Fannie Mae; Vice Chairman of OneWest Bank; and Managing Partner for the law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP.
