October 16, 2020: FBI Director Christopher A. Wray has named A. Tonya Odom Assistant Director, Equal Employment Opportunity Affairs Office at the FBI. Prior to her current position, Ms. Odom served as a section chief in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and as the FBI’s Chief Diversity Officer. She joined the FBI in 2008 as the Chief of the Special Programs Unit in the OEEOA. She also served as the Acting Assistant Director of OEEOA from 2011 to 2012. Ms. Odom was promoted to Section Chief in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion in 2012. Prior to joining the FBI, she worked for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. Odom holds a B.A. in Political Science from Howard University and a J.D. from the University of Maryland.
