Russell "Rusty" Wilson has been named Fire Chief for Mesquite, TX

October 16, 2020: Russell "Rusty" Wilson has been named Fire Chief for Mesquite, TX. Chief Wilson has more than 30 years of fire fighting experience, most recently serving as Fire Chief for Katy, TX. He began his career in the Fire Department of Irving, TX, starting as a Firefighter in 1988 and working his way up to Assistant Fire Chief by 2016. He earned a BS in emergency administration and planning from the University of North Texas and a MS in fire and emergency management from Oklahoma State University. Chief Wilson replaces former Chief Mark Kerby.
