Brett Ludwig’s nomination to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals has been confirmed in the U.S. Senate

September 14, 2020: Brett Ludwig’s nomination to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals has been confirmed in the U.S. Senate by a vote of 91-5. Judge Ludwig has served on the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin since 2017. He was nominated in March 2020 by President Trump to serve on the Seventh Circuit for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Judge Ludwig is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the University of Minnesota School of Law. He then served as a partner at Foley & Lardner LLP, and later taught at Marquette University Law School.
