Nov. 8, 2017: College Park, Md., Mayor Patrick Wojahn, Democrat, was re-elected to office as Mayor in a municipal election held yesterday, Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017. Wojahn defeated three other candidates in the most contested mayoral race in the city’s history. College Park, Md., is located in Prince George’s County, Md., and is just several miles outside of Washington, D.C. In the Nov. 7, 2017, mayoral race, Wojahn received 1,495 votes out of 2,516 votes cast, defeating College Park District 4 Councilman Mary Cook; District 3 resident Tom Chen; and District 4 resident Zari Malsawma, according to the city’s Board of Election Supervisors. Preliminary results showed Cook received 572 votes, Chen received 351 votes and Malsawma received 98 votes. These counts do not include provisional or absentee ballots.
