Laura Blackmore appointed as Executive Director, Washington state government's Puget Sound Partnership

May 14, 2019: Laura Blackmore has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Washington state government’s Puget Sound Partnership, effective on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Blackmore succeeds Sheida Sahandy, who resigned. The Puget Sound Partnership is the state agency that leads the region's collective effort to restore and protect Puget Sound. The Partnership works with hundreds of state, local and tribal partners. Blackmore was most recently the Deputy Director and Tribal Liaison at the Puget Sound Partnership. She has been with the agency since 2015, working in different positions, including Director of Partner Engagement and Boards Program Director. Before she joined the Partnership, she worked for Cascadia Consulting Group, Inc. and her own consulting firm for five years. Blackmore also worked as a Water Quality Planner at the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks. Blackmore received a master’s degree in environmental management from Duke University and a bachelor’s degree in geology from Williams College.
