Nancy Vogel appointed Director, Governor's Water Portfolio Program, California Natural Resources Agency

May 13, 2019: Nancy Vogel was appointed as the Director of the California Governor’s Water Portfolio Program at the California Natural Resources Agency by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday, May 2, 2019. Voegl, 51, Sacramento Democrat, was most recently the director of communications at the Resources Legacy Fund since 2017. She was previously the Deputy Secretary for Communications at the California Natural Resources Agency from 2015 to 2017, and the Assistant Director for Communications at the California Department of Water Resources from 2012 to 2015. Vogel also previously worked as a Principal Consultant at the Senate Office of Oversight and Outcomes from 2008 to 2012, and as a staff writer at The Los Angeles Times from 2000 to 2008, and at The Sacramento Bee from 1991 to 2000. She has also been a Member of the Klamath River Renewal Corporation Board of Directors since 2018. Vogel received a master of arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Graduate School of Journalism. She will be paid $150,000 per year in her new position.
