Eric Olson appointed Superintendent, Missouri State Highway Patrol

March 13, 2019: Eric T. Olson was appointed as the 24th Superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol by Gov. Mike Parson on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Olson was most recently the Acting Superintendent of the State Highway Patrol, a position he held since Sept. 1, 2018, when the former Superintendent, Sandy Karsten, was appointed as the Director of the Missouri Department of Public Safety. Olson has worked for the Missouri State Highway Patrol since July 1, 1990. He was previously the Commanding Officer of Troop A, and he oversaw the Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control. Olson received his bachelor’s degree fro William Jewell College, and he graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) National Academy. The FBI is a division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
