Eric Murphy resigns as Ohio State Solicitor, Ohio Attorney General's Office

March 11, 2019: Eric E. Murphy was confirmed as a U.S. Court of Appeals Judge for the Sixth Circuit by the U.S. Senate on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Murphy, of Ohio, was most recently the Ohio State Solicitor at the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, a position he held since 2013. Murphy previously practiced law a the Columbus, Ohio, office of Jones Day as part of the firm’s Issues and Appeals Group. Murphy received his B.A. degree from Miami University of Ohio, and he received his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School.
