Clare Martorana re-assigned from position as Digital Service Expert, White House U.S. Digital Service

Feb. 11, 2019: Clare Martorana was appointed as the Chief Information Officer at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019. Martorana is the fifth OPM CIO since 2015. Martorana was most recently a Digital Service Expert at the White House U.S. Digital Service (USDS), where she focused on digital modernization for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). She also worked as the general manager at the WebMD Network. As the OPM CIO, Martorana succeeds David Garcia, who resigned. Garcia was the OPM CIO since October, 2017. During his time at OPM, Garcia successfully released the pilot for the Employee Digital Record (EDR), advanced the consolidation of OPM data centers, and implemented the majority of Government Accountability Office (GAO) recommendations to improve OPM data security.
