Julie Jones resigns as Florida Corrections Department Secretary

Feb. 8, 2019: Julie Jones was appointed as the Secretary of the New Mexico Department of Corrections by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019. Jone was most recently the Secretary of the Florida Department of Correctiosn from 2015 to this year, 2019. Before that, Jones was the Director of Law Enforcement at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. She has a diverse background of professional science positions, and she worked as a Biologist at the state Game and Fish Commission and the Department of Natural Resources before her law enforcement and correctional experience. Jones received bachelor and master of science degrees from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.
