Helen Kalla appointed Communications Director, Nevada Governor's Office

Feb. 8, 2019: Helen Kalla was appointed as the Communications Director for the Nevada Governor’s Office by Gov. Steve Sisolak on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019. Kalla has worked in government and politics for her entire career, most recently in Nevada as the Communications Director for the Nevada Democrats during the 2018 election campaign. Kalla previously worked in Washington, D.C., helping establish a communications office for a new, non-partisan citizen engagement non-profit organization. She previously worked in campaign communications and official communications roles, including working at the offices of U.S. Sen. Tom Carper, Delaware, and U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel, Florida. Christina Amestoy, who was the Acting Communications Director since Jan. 7, 2019, and was the communications director during Sisolak’s campaign for Governor, resigned on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019.
