Phyllis Shimabukuro-Geiser appointed Acting Chairman, Hawaii Board of Agriculture

Feb. 7, 2019: Phyllis Shimabukuro-Geiser was appointed as the Acting Chairman of the Hawaii Board of Agriculture by Gov. David Ige on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019. She succeeds Denise Albano, who resigned for personal reasons on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019. Under state law, Shimabukuro-Geiser will hold the position of Acting Chairman for up to sixty days from the date of vacancy or until the position is filled. Shimbukuro-Geiser has been the Deputy to the Chairman of the Agriculture Board since 2015. She is a longtime agriculture advocate. She recently worked at Mikilua Poultry Fam, Inc., in Waianae, where she was the vice president and administrative fiscal assistant. She was also the vice president at the Associated Producers Corporation in Honolulu.
