Nov. 8, 2018: Jacky Rosen, Democrat, was elected to one of the Nevada U.S. Senate seats on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018. Rosen defeated U.S. Sen. Dean Heller, Republican. Heller, who was running for a second term, conceded the race shortly before it was called by The Associated Press. Rosen's victory will make Nevada only one of seven states that has been represented by two female U.S. Senators simultaneously. Nevada’s race was one of the most closely-watched races in the country and among one of the most expensive Senate races, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
