Haitham Hijazi to retire as Director, Prince George's County, Md., Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement Department, on Nov. 30

Nov. 7, 2018: Haitham A. Hijazi plans to retire as the Director of the Prince George’s County, Md., Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018. Hijazi has held the position since 2013. He sent an official retirement notice to the office of County Executive Rushern Baker, said Scott Peterson, a Spokesman for Baker. Hijazi is scheduled to use his annual leave until Nov. 30, Peterson said. Nicholas A. Majett, Prince George’s County’s Chief Administrative Officer, has been named to take over Hijazi’s duties until Dec. 3, 2018, when the next County Executive is scheduled to be sworn in.
