Travis County, Texas, Auditor Nicki Riley to resign soon

Nov. 7, 2018: Travis County, Texas, Audistor Nicki Riley has resigned to pursue other professional interests. Riley told The Austin American-Statesman on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, that she made the decision last week, the week of October 28-Nov. 3, 2018, and informed her bosses, the county’s nineteen District Court Judges, that she plans to resign once they find her successor. She has worked in the office for sixteen years, and she has been the county’s chief financial officer for the past six years. State District Court Judge Lora Livingston confirmed Riley’s departure in an e-mail on Monday, Nov. 5. Riley leads an office of about ninety employees and is responsible for overseeing the county’s financial records and enforcing laws governing county finances.
