Gerald Gordon retires as President, CEO, Fairfax County, Va., Economic Development Authority after 35 years with the agency

Nov. 5, 2018: Jeff Kaczmarek has announced that he plans to retire on Jan. 1, 2019, as the Executive Director of the Prince William County, Va., Department of Economic Development. Kaczmarek, 70, has held the position for six years. He plans to move to Arizona, where he and his wife plan to build a new home and spend more time with their five grandchildren. Kaczmarek was previously the President and Chief Executive Office of the Kansas City Economic Development Corporation. Kaczmarek said the Prince William County, Va., County Executive plans to name an Acting Director for the Economic Development Department during the coming weeks and then conduct a formal search for his successor. Prince William is Virginia's second most populous county, approaching half a million residents. Kaczmarek's retirement announcment occurs just two months after Fairfax County, Va., Economic Development Authority (EDA) President and Chief Executive Officer Gerald Gordon announced his retirement from the post after thirty-five years at the EDA.
