Don Grant resigns as Gaston County, N.C., County Commissioner

October 11, 2018: Jack Brown, Gastonia Township Republican, was sworn in as a Gaston County, N.C., County Commissioner on Tuesday night, October 9, 2018. Brown, 80, was previously on the County Commissioners Borad from 2004 to 2008. In his new position, Brown is filling out the remainder of a term that was left open on Sept. 11, 2018, when Don Grant resigned as a Commissioner. Brown was nominated by members of the local Republican Party last month, September, 2018, to be in office for the rest of Grant’s term, which ends in 2020. In addition to his previous term as a County Commissioner, Brown also recently worked on the Travel and Tourism and Economic Development Advisory Committees.
