Cheri Schoenfish resigns as North Dakota Chief People Officer

October 11, 2018: Kelsey Roth has been appointed as the North Dakota Chief People Officer and the Director of the Human Resource Management Services office by Gov. Doug Burgum, effective on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, Burgum announced on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Roth succeeds Cheri Schoenfish, who is resigning from the office. Roth has worked as the director of human resources at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota since January, 2017. She previously worked in personnel management for Amazon for more than ten years. Roth received a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of North Dakota, and she received a master’s degree in human resource management. She is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, the Fargo Moorhead Human Resources Association and the past president of the Northeastern Dakota Area Human Resources Association. The Chief People Officer works as a member of the Governor’s Cabinet, but the office is located within the Office of Management and Budget.
