BAE Systems Inc. officials to move company Headquarters to Falls Church, Virginia

October 9, 2018: BAE Systems Inc. officials have announced that they plan to move the company’s Headquarters offices to Falls Church, Va., as part of a consolidation of its Northern Virginia office space. Officials at the defense contractor, which is a subsidiary of United Kingdom-based aerospace and defense giant BAE Systems PLC, has signed a lease at 2941 Fairview Park Drive and plans to move about 350 employees there in the summer of 2020. The Washington Business Journal first reported in April, 2018, that BAE officials were considering taking space in Fairview Park and that, with some leases set to expire, they were looking at real estate options, including renewing leases, relocating to other sites or both. Its current headquarters is on Wilson Boulevard in the Rosslyn area of Northern Virginia. BAE officials said the new Headquarters is expected to provide greater efficiencies for the company and offer enhanced collaboration opportunities for employees. BAE leases more than 582,000-square-feet in the Washington, D.C., area, according to data from CoStar Group Inc. That office space includes two buildings in Rosslyn as well as well as the Reston Commons building on Sunset Hills Road. The company has business units occupying space at seven other addresses, including in buildings along Arlington County's Rosslyn-Ballston corridor and in Stafford, Va., and Rockville, Maryland. BAE employs about 3,000 people in the Washington, D.C., region.
