Chad Weddle re-elected as Walkersville, Md., Town Burgess

Sept. 12, 2018: Walkersville Town Burgess Chad Weddle was re-elected to office in a municipal election held on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018. Tom Gilbert, Mary Ann Brodie-Ennis, Michael McNiesh, John Zimmerman and Michael Reed Bailey were elected as Town Commissioners. Brodie-Ennis is a first-term incumbent Commissioner. The others were all challengers, marking the first time since 1996 that more than two new Commissioners have been elected to the Town Board of Commissioners. Weddle was previously a Commissioner for nineteen years before he was elected as the Burgess in 2015. He is an Assistant Frederick County State’s Attorney. The Burgess and Commissioners are elected to three-year terms. The Burgess is paid an annual salary of $12,500, and Commissioners earn $3,600 each, based on the salaries included in Walkersville's fiscal year 2019 budget.
