Sept. 12, 2018: Towanda Brooks was appointed as the Director of the Office of Human Resources at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018. Brooks was most recently the Chief Human Capital Officer at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Brooks has also worked in the human resources, or personnel, field at the U.S. Department of Commerce, the National Nuclear Security Administration at the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Secret Service at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Library of Congress, a division of the U.S. Congress. Brooks received a bachelor’s degree from George Mason University and a master’s degree from American University. She also received a professional certificate in executive leadership from Georgetown University.
