Sept. 10, 2018: Eric C. Tostrud was confirmed as a U.S. District Court Judge for Minnesota by the U.S. Senate on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018. Tostrud, of Minnesota, is currently a lawyer at Lockridge Grindal Nauen P.L.L.P., and he works on the full-time faculty at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law as the distinguished practitioner in residence. He teaches in the areas of federal jurisdiction and federal-court procedure. During his twenty-six years at the firm, Tostrud has maintained a complex commercial litigation practice almost exclusively in federal court, with emphasis in the areas of complex insurance coverage, health care litigation, and ERISA. Tostrud received his B.A. from St. Olaf College and his law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law.
