Scott Blackburn resigns as Acting Chief Information Officer, Veterans Affairs Department

August 8, 2018: Scott Blackburn resigned as the Acting Chief Information Officer at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to return to his former company, McKinsey and Company, in early July, 2018. Blackburn, who previously worked for nine years at McKinsey, came back to the consulting firm in the public sector office focusing on health care, technology and large-scale transformation. He spent more than three years at VA, including eight months as the Acting CIO.
