Darrel Woo appointed Chief, Bureau of Security and Investigagive Services, California Consumer Affairs Department

August 6, 2018: Darrel Woo was appointed as the Chief of the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services at the California Department of Consumer Affairs by Gov. Jerry Brown on Thursday, July 26, 2018. Woo, 65, Sacramento Democrat, was most recently the First Vice President for the Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education Area 6 since 2018. He has held several positions at that office since 2010. He was previously a Senior Attorney at the California Department of Insurance from 1999 to 2014, and he was an adjunct law professor at the Lincoln Law School of Sacramento from 1999 to 2009. Woo was also a Staff Counsel at the California Department of Food and Agriculture, Division of Fairs and Expositions, from 1996 to 1999, and an Energy Facility Siting Planner at the California Energy Commission from 1975 to 1996. Woo received a law degree from the Lincoln Law School of Sacramento. He will be paid $122,964 per year in his new position.
