Fairfax County, Va.-based ICF acquires Boca Raton, Fla.-based DMS Disaster Consultants

August 6, 2018: Fairfax County, Va.-based ICF has acquired Boca Raton, Fla.-based DMS Disaster Consultants. DMS works with governments develop risk management and mitigation strategies and manage data from disaster recovery efforts using the disasTRAX software, ICF officials said on Thursday, August 2, 2018. “Our teams share a common mission to encourage community and organization leaders to plan for the next disaster,” said DMS President David Shapiro. Shapiro added that both companies aim to offer an integrated portfolio of disaster response, recovery and preparedness offerings. For twenty-two years, DMS has supported more than 30,000 disaster planning and recovery projects with financial support from programs such as the Community Development Block Grant initiative and the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Public Assistance Program, among other programs. ICF officials have worked with several federal, state and local agencies to conduct large-scale disaster recovery programs using funds from FEMA and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
