Will Roper appointed as Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, U.S. Air Force

August 6, 2018: Chris Shank has been appointed as the Director of the Strategic Capabilities Office at the U.S. Department of Defense. Shank succeeds Will Roper, who was re-assigned as the Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics. As a Senior Adviser to the Air Force Secretary in 2017, Shank helped re-establish the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering and the White House National Space Council. The Air Force veteran also held several leadership and adviser positions at other companies and agencies such as Van Scoyoc Associates, Honeywell, the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, the Defense Department, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
