Charles Cook withdraws from nomation as Homeland Security Department Chief Financial Officer

June 11, 2018: Charles E. Cook III withdrew from his nomination as the Chief Financial Officer at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Cook, of Maryland, is the president of C. Cook Advisory Services, LLC. He is also on the Board of Advisers of Sehlke Consulting Services. Cook previously worked for the federal government’s Senior Executive Service for twenty years. Cook worked at the U.S. Navy, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee and the U.S. Marine Corps. He was the Acting Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Financial Management and Comptroller, from April, 2013, to August, 2013.
