Mary Rowland nominated as U.S. District Court Judge, Illinois Northern District

June 11, 2018: Mary M. Rowland was nominated as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Illinois on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Rowland, of Illinois, has been a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Illinois since 2012. Before she took that position, she worked for twelve years as a partner at the Chicago firm of Hughes, Socol, Piers, Resnick and Dym, Ltd. Before that, Rowland worked for ten years at the Chicago office of the Federal Defender, first as a Staff Attorney and later as the office’s Chief Appellate Attorney. Rowland received her law degree from the University of Chicago Law School.
