Martha Pacold nominated as U.S. District Court Judge for Illinois Northern District

June 11, 2018: Martha M. Pacold was nominated as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Illinois on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Pacold, of Illinois, is currently the Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Before that, she was the department’s Executive Secretary. Before that, she was an associate and then a partner at the Chicago office of Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar and Scott, LLP. She also worked as a lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago Law School. Earlier in her career, she was a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and a Counsel to the Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice. Pacold received her law degree from the University of Chicago Law School.
