Karin Immergut nominated as U.S. District Court Judge for Oregon

June 11, 2018: Karin J. Immergut was nominated as a U.S. District Court Judge for Oregon on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Immergut, of Oregon, is currently a Multnomah County, Oregon, Circuit Court Judge, where she has presided over more than 250 trials, including criminal and civil cases. Before that, Immergut was the U.S. Attorney for Oregon for six years. Before that, she worked for two years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for Oregon, where she was assigned to the Fraud Unit and led a gun violence reduction initiative. From 1996 to 2001, she worked as a Deputy District Attorney for the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted financial fraud, elder fraud and identity theft. During the summer of 1998, she was an Associate Independent Counsel at the Office of the Independent Counsel. Immergut received her law degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley.
