Brian Moran nominated as U.S. Attorney for Washington Western District

May 15, 2018: Brian T. Moran was nominated as the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Washington on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Moran, of Washington, is currently of counsel at the law firm of Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe in Seattle. Before that, he was the Chief Deputy Attorney General at the Office of the Washington State Attorney General from 2006 to 2013, supervising 575 Assistant Attorney Generals, twenty-seven legal divisions, and the Solicitor General’s Office. From 1998 to 2006, Moran was the state Attorney General’s Chief Criminal Prosecutor, where he and his staff assisted Washington’s thirty-nine county Prosecutors’ Offices with the investigation and prosecution of violent crimes, conflict casts and sexually-violent predator cases. Before he joined the Washington Attorney General’s Office, Moran worked for ten years as a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Kitsap County, prosecuting homicides and other violent crimes. He received his law degree from the Seattle University School of Law.
