Corey Maze nominated as U.S. District Court Judge for Alabama Northern District

May 15, 2018: Corey L. Maze was nominated as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Alabama on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Maze, of Alabama, is currently the Alabama Special Deputy Attorney General. Since 2011, he has worked as the Chief of the Attorney General’s Special Litigation unit, and he been the state’s primary counsel in complex civil issues, including the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the opioid crisis. From 2008 to 2011, Maze was the Alabama Solicitor General. Maze received his law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.
