Lewis Liman nominated as U.S. District Court Judge for New York Southern District

May 15, 2018: Lewis J. Liman was nominated as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Liman, of New York, is a partner at the New York City office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton LLP, where he has worked on civil, commercial and white collar criminal litigation since he joined the firm in 2003. Before he joined the firm, Liman was a partner at Wilmer, Cutler and Pickering. Before he entered private practice, Liman worked for five years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, where he rose to the position of Deputy Chief of Appeals. Liman received his law degree from the Yale Law School.
