Rachel Novner nominated as U.S. District Court Judge, New York Eastern District

May 15, 2018: Rachel P. Kovner was nominated as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Eastern District of New York on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Kovner, of New York, is currently an Assistant to the Solicitor General at the Solicitor General’s Office at the U.S. Department of Justice, where she has represented the federal government in litigation before the U.S. Supreme Court since 2013. Before she joined the Silicitor General’s Office, Kovner worked for four years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, where she worked as a trial counsel in ten felony trials and argued sevean appeals at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Kovner received her law degree from the Stanford Law School.
