Freddie Pough appointed as Director, South Carolina Juvenile Justice Department

May 14, 2018: Freddie Pough was confirmed as the Director of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice by the South Carolina State Senate on April 25, 2018. Pough has worked for the department since the fall of 2000. He started his career as a Juvenile Correctional Officer, Pough is regarded as an expert in the field of interviewing and interrogation, marksmanship, investigations, and search and seizure. He is a certified class one police officer with the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and he is professionally certified as a detective, school resource officer, probation, pardon and parole agent and a juvenile justice correctional officer. Pough has worked as the Juvenile Justice Department’s Inspector General, and he previously worked at the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division as a Probation, Pardon and Parole Agent; Patrol Officer; and as a Lieutenant.
