Mary McElroy nominated as U.S. District Court Judge for Rhode Island

April 13, 2018: Mary E. McElroy was nominated as a U.S. District Court Judge for Rhode Island on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. McElroy, of Rhode Island, is currently the Public Defender for the Rhode Island state government. Before she took this post in 2012, she worked for six years as an Assistant Federal Public Defender for the Rhode Island District. Before she joined that office, she worked for twelve years as an Assistant Public Defender for the Rhode Island state government. McElroy receiver her law degree from the Suffolk University School of Law.
