Kenneth Bell nominated as U.S. District Court Judge, North Carolina Western District

April 13, 2018: Kenneth D. Bell was nominated as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of North Carolina on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Bell, of North Carolina, is a partner at the Charlotte office of McGuireWoods LLP, where he represents clients on several issues, including white-collar crimes and business-related investigations. For the past five-and-a-half years, he has worked as the federal court-appointed Receiver on the largest Ponzi scheme in history as measured by the number of victims, which is more than 800,000 people. Before he joined McGuireWoods, Bell was a partner at Hunton and Williams LLP and Mayer Brown LLP. He previously worked for ten years as the First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, and he worked for eight years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina. Bell received his law degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law.
