Rory Thibault appointed Washington County, Vermont, State's Attorney

Feb. 12, 2018: Rory Thibault was appointed as a Washington County, Vermont, State’s Attorney by Gov. Phil Scott on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018. Thibault was most recently the Washington County Acting State’s Attorney. Thibault succeeded Scott Williams, who resigned. Thibault has more than seven years of litigation experience, with a practice focused on complex cases, including murder, sexual assault, child exploitation and fraud. Thibault was most recently an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Vermont, and he was Washington County’s Chief Deputy State’s Attorney from June, 2016, to October, 2017. He received his law degree from the Vermont Law School.
