Catherine Forsch appointed President, South Dakota Historical Society Foundation

Feb. 12, 2018: Catherine Forsch was appointed as the President of the South Dakota Historical Society Foundation on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018. Forsch, of Sioux Falls, succeeds Michael Lewis, of Rapid City, retired on Dec. 31, 2017, from the Foundation after holding the position of President for four years. Forsch was previously the Director of Development for the Foundation since October, 2016. Forsch previously worked as the enterprise director of Donor Relations at the Sanford Health Foundation. She has twenty years of experience in executive planning, administration, communications and marketing, and ten years of experience in the non-profit sector. Forsch received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and mass communications from South Dakota State University. The South Dakota Historical Society Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1982 to receive and administer charitable gifts for the South Dakota State Historical Society for the benefit of educating and preserving South Dakota history. The foundation and the South Dakota State Historical Society are headquartered at the Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre. The South Dakota State Historical Society is a division of the Department of Education.
